LUXURIOUS & LUXURY the MOST overused word in real estate around the world. As soon as I see the word luxury pertaining to property you’ve lost my attention. Can we agents get a little more creative with our marketing blurb!!
Whilst sitting on my kayak this morning on holiday in Gili Gede (get yourselves Kokomo Gili Gede if not yet been before), I challenged my friend to finding ten alternative words to luxurious aka my most hated word in the dictionary!
- Elegant – Generic but passes the test
- Lavish – NO. sounds too 80s
- Sumptuous – not ideal sounds like voluptuous to me. “This sumptuous villa is voluptuous in space….” Comedy factor at least.
- Plush – sounds common as muck
- High end – generic and dull.
- Upscale – meh
- Glamourous – trailer trash connotations
- Exclusive – elitist and exclusive to who anyway??
- And we couldnt find anymore… but that was our morning fun!
